Dr Vidhata is an ophthalmic surgeon with 5 years of post M.S working experience, including 3 years of dedicated fellowship and 2 year of consultancy in Retina & Uvea services at the largest charitable trust hospitals in India, having rich experience of complex retinal surgeries, aiming to stay updated with newer advances and work for the betterment of patients.
Dr Vidhata did his MBBS from prestigious Patna Medical College with a Gold medal for Topper in Ophthalmology. His extensive education and training in ophthalmology, including his post-graduation from Calcutta National Medical College, Kolkata has equipped him with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in his field. To pursue his interest in retinal diseases, he did his Vitreo-retina and Uvea fellowship from Sadguru Netra Chikitsalaya, Chitrakoot, MP. Sadguru Netra Chikitsalaya is a state-of-the-art Tertiary Eye care Hospital of Shri Sadguru Seva Sangh Trust situated in the rural part of central India Chitrakoot, Madhya Pradesh. Over the last 40 years, Sadguru Netra Chikitsalaya has gained a national and international reputation for its service orientation, modern ophthalmic techniques and community-based outreach activities, performing more than 1,50,000 surgical procedures through its direct and outreach services annually. He worked as Senior Consultant in Department of Retina & Uvea Services at SNC where he gained extensive experience of treating retinal diseases.
He also did his Retina Observership at Ipswich Hospital, NHS foundation Trust, United Kindom. He also visited Moorfield Eye Hospital, London a world leader in higher surgical training for ophthalmologists. For over 200 years, Moorfields Eye Hospital has been a teaching hospital dedicated to ‘curing diseases of the eye’. It is the oldest and one of the world’s largest centres of ophthalmic treatment, teaching, and research.
During his fellowship, he performed multiple retinal detachment surgery along with Endophthalmitis vitrectomy, Macular Hole surgery, Scleral Fixated IOL and Scleral Buckle. He is well-trained in managing complex tractional detachments, as well as Diagnosing and treating diabetic retinopathy. He is having vast experience of performing Pneumatic Retinopexy and retinal laser procedure. He is equipped with skills of performing ROP screening and treating ROP. Along with above, he was actively involved in training of fellows in both medical and surgical retina.
He has publications in national and international journals and has also served as a reviewer for reputable journals. He has represented DDEC at national and state-level conferences, and has actively participated in various cultural activities, quizzes, and talent shows.
